Yes We Did!

History has been made for the White House, the country and the world! But what does this historic moment actually mean?

Much work needs to be done. Having our first African American President is not the end, but is most certainly the beginning of an endless work, and renewed commitment to self and community, and a reprioritization of education and economics.

With more than ten years of service to the Milwaukee community, the Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals will continue to stay the course of community service, civic engagement and financial literacy. Now, more than ever is our time to make sure that we as an organization do all that we can to improve our community, strengthen our membership, and blaze a trail of success and opportunity for our youth to follow.

Our esteem President Marc Morial of the National Urban League was one of the first leaders of this country to be interviewed by the national media networks. We often underestimate the national influence of this organization that we so proudly represent.

I want to encourage you to recommit yourself to the movement. Look into our community and see where you will have the greatest impact. This election has shown not only us the Young Professionals, but has shown the world that we are in a position to affect some significant change, but we must take charge now!

Yes We Did! But what will we do now?!
